Introducing the Lion

Wyatt's school hosted a circus, and our little boy was the lion. All week he practiced roaring, he wouldn't let me cut his hair because he needed a mane for his character, he did this fun breakdance move (something he says lion do), and he ran around the house on all fours. For those who don't spend much time with Wyatt, he has a HUGE imagination. He loves to dress up and take on the character of whoever/whatever he is pretending to be.

The day of the circus came, and he couldn't be more thrilled. Until....it was time to perform in front of the audience full of family members. Later when asked why he started to cry and wouldn't go out with the other lions, he said, "I was afraid I would get burned." Right when the lions got up, the ring master held up a hula hoop and said, "now our lions will jump through this ring of fire." I'm not sure if they rehearsed it or not, but apparently Wyatt's imagination felt the red steamers hanging from the hula hoop might burn him. So, after all of that practicing, our lion did not perform. He did, however, look super cute! Nonna joined Lauren and I for the event!!
