First Days of School

Old news, but I just had to share!! Wyatt experienced his first day of school. I'll have to say that not only did he shed a few tears when I left, but I did too. I couldn't help it - my little boy is old enough to go to school!! In order to make myself feel better, I had to remember that many children go to daycare as young as 6 or 12 weeks old. As Nathan has told me, this experience will be good for him. He attended one class before Lauren arrived. Since her arrival, my mom has taken him each day. He only goes 2 days a week. From what I hear, he has quickly adjusted and appears to really enjoy his time at school. He still gets teary when he is first dropped off, but quickly joins his class and becomes tear free! :) When he gets home, he always has stories to share about the slides and the temporary tatoos (stamps) on his legs. Here are a few pictures:

11 to 7

The other night Wyatt went to spend the night with his Nonna and GG. Although we missed him, it gave us the opportunity to get some rest and spend a little time with Lauren. I was excited about the extra rest, but had no idea what was really in store for me. Lauren went to bed at her normal time and woke up at 11PM hungry. I nursed her and she immediately went back to sleep. Believe it or not, she did not wake up again until 7AM the next morning. I couldn't believe it.....8 straight hours. Now, I don't expect this to be the new norm and in fact, I can confirm that it won't be. She was back to her normal wake up times last night, which is expected and fine with me. I welcome the opportunities to wake up and snuggle with her throughout the night!

Thanks Nonna and GG for taking Wyatt for the night. Not just for us, but for him. He had a blast and is still talking about his first bike ride.

Introducing Lauren - 2 weeks old!!

I can't believe that Lauren is already 2 weeks old. I promise she does wake up. It's just hard for me to capture those moments. She is a sleeper!! I know I am biased, but she is a cute sleeper. If I didn't have a 2 year old to entertain, I could spend my day staring at her sleep.

Learning to Read

Not only did Wyatt introduce Lauren to his favorite place this week (the playground), but he also decided it was time to read her a book. Despite my encouragement for Brown Bear Brown Bear or Goodnight or a Bible Story; Wyatt decided that she must learn about trucks....BIG trucks....BIG trucks with lights.....BIG trucks with wheels.....tractors and trains. It was just too cute!

First Trip to the Park

So many people told me how different it would be between your first and second born child. I believed them, but realize now how true it is. I don't think I left the house for 4 weeks with Wyatt. We were in total hibernation. Of course, however, I must keep in mind that he was an ICU baby and we had our challenges at first. Lauren's little life, I can tell, will be quite different. At two weeks, we took our first adventure to the Lide and the Wee. That is Wyatt's way of saying the slides and swings. As you can see in the pics, Wyatt was very proud of that moment. He really enjoyed sharing his favorite place with is little sister.

Wyatt meets Lauren for the first time

Aunt Kriya was at the hospital the first day that Wyatt met Lauren and thankfully documented everything with her camera. The link below provides you with a slide show of the "meeting." I'll have to admit, I spent hours (not to mention tons of tears) worrying about Wyatt's reaction to her arrival. To my surprise, it could not have gone any smoother. He has been absolutely in love and has shown no sign of not wanting her. He constantly asks to hold her and gives her kisses (lots of them) without any encouragement. He thinks her noises are hysterical and he loves when she coos. I did all of that worrying for nothing!!

Getting Started!

So after thinking about this for a while, I have finally decided to join the "blog world." I attempted joining it back in January and then I was told of the dangers of posting your children on the web with information. However, after talking to Aunt Riya (Wyatt's way of saying Kriya), I've decided to join again. The purpose of this is for me to share pictures and stories of our lil' ones with our family and friends... especially those who live out of town and don't get to see our little ones much. It will also be a great way for me to journal/keep up with the events of Wyatt's and Lauren's life. I've been told that when you have two babies 2 and under, you tend to get amnesia.

Special thanks to Molly for helping me get this blog started!!! She is very talented (in a million ways) and did a great job designing our logo. Thanks Molly!!
