Happy Birthday Weed

We got to help my nephew Wade (aka Weed by Lauren)celebrate his second birthday at two separate birthday parties. His first party was a family party, and his second party was a choo choo extraveganza. Wyatt and Lauren had so much fun!! Lauren talked about "Weed" for days. Anytime she sees a choo choo, she starts to talk about Weed too!!! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera for either event, so these pics are stolen off of Wade's blog. See Wade's World for more birthday pics!!!!

Save the Date

Nathan and I have two very close friends that have an adorable baby girl. She is actually closer to Lauren in age and will be in her same grade at school, but Wyatt has a special place in his heart for her. Shortly after she was born, Nathan and Jaime taught Wyatt to say, "You can't date my Connelly." Although Jaime is already recruiting Wyatt to help keep the boys away, he has also mentioned that he would be okay with Wyatt dating Connelly. You know.....in 40 years!! So, save the date! We have found the future wife of Wyatt.....sweet baby Connelly! :)

Tee Tee in the Potty

Last night Lauren tee-teed in the potty, and she loves it!! Of course we all re-enacted the pee-pee in the potty dance we did with Wyatt. Lauren loves it and will fall to the ground giggling when we do it. Only she does not like the word pee pee. She has corrected us to use tee tee. Being the princess she is, I guess pee pee was not appropriate. Wish I had a pic or video to share, but it was so spur of the momment!!

First Haircut

Lauren got her first haircut. For some reason, I kept putting it off. I finally caved though, and our baby girl got her hair cut. She did such a good job. When we took Wyatt to the same place two years ago. He walked straight in and played with the train table. Lauren, on the other hand, walked straight in and went straight to the shopping area. She checked out the raincoats, the bows and the little purses. It was fun to observe the differences between the two!! She was there to shop. During her haircut, she did a great job. She didn't even require bubbles or a lolly pop to sit still. She just sat quietly for the entire cut!!

Wy Wy, Wy Wy

Last night I heard Lauren scream out, "mommy, mommy" in the middle of the night. Instead of jumping up to get her, I decided I would wait a few minutes and see if she would go back to sleep on her own. After she yelled for me for about a minute or two, it got silent and I thought...ah, now back to sleep. Before I could drift back a sleep, however, I heard this little voice start to scream, "Wy Wy, Wy Wy." If mommy wasn't going to come see her at 4AM, she wanted Wyatt to come. In hopes of not having two awake children, she got her wish and I rocked the baby girl back to sleep!!!

Introducing the Lion

Wyatt's school hosted a circus, and our little boy was the lion. All week he practiced roaring, he wouldn't let me cut his hair because he needed a mane for his character, he did this fun breakdance move (something he says lion do), and he ran around the house on all fours. For those who don't spend much time with Wyatt, he has a HUGE imagination. He loves to dress up and take on the character of whoever/whatever he is pretending to be.

The day of the circus came, and he couldn't be more thrilled. Until....it was time to perform in front of the audience full of family members. Later when asked why he started to cry and wouldn't go out with the other lions, he said, "I was afraid I would get burned." Right when the lions got up, the ring master held up a hula hoop and said, "now our lions will jump through this ring of fire." I'm not sure if they rehearsed it or not, but apparently Wyatt's imagination felt the red steamers hanging from the hula hoop might burn him. So, after all of that practicing, our lion did not perform. He did, however, look super cute! Nonna joined Lauren and I for the event!!
