Cute Quote of the Day

Wyatt was making funny faces in the backseat of our car while Lauren laughed hysterically at him.

It then got silent and Wyatt said,
"Mommy, can we keep my baby 'pister'?"
Mommy: "Yes, Wyatt. We are definitely going to keep your baby sister."
Wyatt: "Good, because I really do love her."

It was as if Lauren knew exactly what he said, because she immediately puckered up and blew him kisses from her seat. It was very sweet!!

SOCCER 2009

Wyatt just started soccer for the first time, and it was so very cute!! His first game, against the Cookie Monsters, was hysterical. On several occasions I had pains in my side from laughing so hard. Overall, I was pretty impressed. Several of the kids that were playing for their very first time refused to get on the field. Not only was Wyatt out there, but he ran the whole time. He was not always running with the ball or even in the direction of the ball :), but he was always running. During his second game, he came up to me and said he couldn't play anymore because he was just too sweaty. Here are a few pictures and a video of his VERY FIRST GOAL. It cracks me up. Check out his coach when he makes his goal!! :)

Animal Hunting

While gone to Vegas, Nathan was left to hold down the fort all on his own. Well, almost on his own. He recruited Nonna's help some while I was gone. Thanks Nonna for your help!! I left on Saturday, and on Sunday Nonna and GrandPa Greg picked up Wyatt and they headed to Athens for the day. Wyatt spent the afternoon "animal hunting" (as Wyatt calls it) with his grandparents and cousins. It was definitely a highlight of his weekend. Even now (weeks later), we are practicing our animal hunting skills and he loves sharing the details of his new hobby with all of his friends.

Wyatt's grandfather, Grandpa Greg (or GG), is a naturalist and has been teaching Wyatt all of these new skills. I'm very thankful we have him. For a pretty crazy video of Wyatt's grandfather, check out the following link... http://www.orbridge.com/index.php/dest_pub/gallery/cat/amazon/

Fun times in VEGAS

Several weeks ago I went to Vegas with my cousin and two friends. We had a blast. I would lie if I said that I wasn't sad at times though. Although I loved the 4 hour spa day, laying out at the pool with no kids to watch and nice dinners with only one mouth to feed and no floor to clean; I missed Nathan, Wyatt and Lauren terribly. It was a well deserved break though, and we had a blast in Vegas.

I've decided not to post my whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas photos!! :) He! He!!!

Celebrating the BIG ONE!!!

On the Sunday after Lauren's birthday, we had a family birthday party for her. She seemed to have so much fun that day. Why wouldn't she?? She had one of her favorite dinners (spaghetti), she had all of her favorite family members over (minus a few), cake and gifts galore!! It was very fun watching her open all of her gifts. She kept saying "here" as she took a package from you or passed you a present. It was neat because she seemed to get very excited about every gift she got. She really love them. She smiled constantly, and hugged each baby doll that was opened. At one point, Wyatt let out a sigh and said, "another baby doll??" Even now those baby dolls get about 20 kisses a day!!! I think she was just so excited to finally have toys of her own!! You know, something other than cars, trucks, trains and balls!!!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!! We love you!!!

Baby Girl is ONE

I can't believe the time has come to write this post. My baby girl is ONE!!!! Lauren turned one on Monday. Lauren has been a true blessing ever since the moment we found out we were expecting. I'll have to admit that I have been dreading this day in a way. I feel like I no longer have a baby. I now have a pre-toddler. Every day her personality is revealed more and more. She is an extremely happy baby, that loves to say Hi to everyone!!! She giggles or screams depending on what is going on around her. Wyatt loves to take toys away from her. Her defense mechanism?? To scream and bite if he gets close enough. Her vocabulary has now expanded to include the following words: "momma, dadda, nonna, dog, bye, hi, and here." Any time she tries to hand you something or wants something from you, she says, "he-a" for here. I noticed her always saying that and then realized that I constantly say here to her when I am trying to get her attention to give her something. She has taken 6 steps on her own, and would probably be full force walking if Wyatt didn't like to take push toys away from her! :) The joys of having an older brother. I had 4, so I can relate!! She seems pretty independent, and loves to feed herself with a spoon. It's not neat, but she seems to get enough in to fill her tummy. She loves to snuggle and to read books. She loves to be around Wyatt and squeals when she sees him. They kiss each other several times a day! It's really quite sweet. On her first birthday, she had 4 teeth, with a few more almost to the point of making a break through! I'm expecting them any day. My mom didn't want to miss her birthday celebration and was out of town for Labor Day weekend, so we are having a family only birthday party on Sunday. I'll have more pictures to share of the party next week. We could not, however, ignore her actual birthday and had a few friends and Nathan's parents over for dinner on Monday. I was going to wait on a smash cake, but my friend Ashley made one and brought it to her. Here is Lauren digging in. To her excitement, she will have another opportunity to dig into a cake on Sunday!!

All smiles:
