Baseball with Enzo

Wyatt is still VERY into baseball. He plays every second that he can. A few Saturdays ago, Enzo met Wyatt at the park for a game!!! Here are a few pics from the day.

The below pic includes Wyatt in his catchers outfit. He changes his clothes depending on what position he is playing. He was begging me to buy him a catchers helmet, but I told him to wait until Christmas. I'm glad we didn't buy one because he came up with an alternative all on his own....

7 Year Anniversary

I can't believe it, but Nathan and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary a few weeks ago. After spending the week at the beach with my cousin, Nathan came down to join us. My parents kept Lauren and Wyatt for one night and we stayed at the King & Prince on St. Simons Island. Our wedding reception was there, so it made it special. A free babysitter was nice too! :) We had a wonderful time. We took Wyatt and Lauren to the pool for the afternoon and then spent our first night alone since Lauren was born. It felt quite odd, but was very nice too!! We had great conversation, dinner and just plain fun!!

I can't believe that we have been married for 7 years. In those 7 short years, we have gotten a dog, obtained two graduate degrees, bought and sold a house, built our own home, had a loving, sweet little boy and a precious baby girl. Who would have ever known?? I can honestly say that I married my best friend!! He is quite an amazing provider, father, friend and husband. I feel very lucky!! Since we were alone, we didn't have someone to take our picture. So, instead, I leave you with a pic from our wedding and honeymoon from 7 short years ago!!!

Baby Girl Shares the Love

As mentioned in previous posts, Baby Girl LOVES to kiss. At a birthday party a few weekends ago, I heard a bunch of the mother's say "ohhh, how cute" all at the same time. When I looked over to see what everyone was Ahh-ing at, I noticed it was my daughter sharing her kiss with yet another boy. There have been 3 boys in between my first playgroup post and this one. I've missed photographing the other ones. I was lucky enough for my friend to send me these pics!!

Her kisses truly melt your heart. She puckers up and kisses you when you show her the slightest bit of love. When Nathan gets home, the first thing she does is take off after him to share her love. I'm going to try (again) to get a video of her kiss tonight if I can and post it. I'm really behind on my posts. I have so much to share - more baseball stories, our anniversary, taking first steps and more!!!!! Hopefully I will find time this weekend!!!

I learned that from.....

While at the beach, my dad and I were lucky to witness a very cute picture perfect moment. I wish we had our video camera with us at the time, but we didn't so I can't visually share it with you. We were at the pool on SSI, and Wyatt was playing in the pool with my two nephews. Altough Wyatt had gone down the slide before, he was reluctant to do it that day. He kept walking to the top of the slide. He would look down it and my nephews would try to get him to go. "You can do it!" "Just go Wyatt, it's fun!!" Wyatt would not go, and would instead turn around and walk back down. After several attempts (approximately over 10), Wyatt went up and down the slide. Immediately after he got to the bottom, he stood up, screamed "YES" and pulled his arm into the side of his body while making a fist. Do you know the move I am talking about? A huge smile of accomplishment was across his face. It was the cutest thing my dad and I had seen in a while. He was very excited.

A few days later, Nathan and I were talking about it and we asked Wyatt, "Buddy, where did you learn to do that yes move (and we demonstrated it for him)?" His response, "um..I learned it from Tiger Woods." Turn on your TV and watch the golf channel. Since he told me he learned it from Tiger Woods, I have witnessed Tiger do it several times in celebration of a good put!!

Another Beach Trip to SSI

Nathan and I often talk about moving to St. Simmons Island. Who knows if we ever will. In reality, Lauren, Wyatt and I have been part time residents to the island this summer. I feel like we have been to the beach alot. A nice plus to having my parents and brother live there!! We went for the week with my cousin. Here are some pictures from our trip:

Wyatt with Flat Stanley :

Little Miss Shopper (already):

While down there we went to the park, to pools, out to dinner, to the beach, biking, running, you name it!! Wyatt spent the night with his cousins and LOVED it!! He has told me several times since getting home that he misses Thomas and Gant (Grant) and Uncle Tom.

For his birthday, Wyatt received a scooter. Attached is a little video of him cruising on it!! He loves it!! I'm excited because it gives me a little break from baseball!!! (Thanks Aunt Karen, Uncle Alan, Ashley & Ben)

Baby Girl - 11 Months

Our baby girl is now 11 months. I can't believe it. I can't believe she is one month (well, actually less than one month now) away from being ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Here are a few pictures of her at 11 months (+ a week)!!! We went to a local place for portraits. It was an adventure. Lauren has gone from the mellow, calm, non-crying (ever) baby to the wild, adventurous, let me do what I want or I will scream pre-toddler. I was litterally sweating trying to keep her in the picture area. We are getting our pictures taken by a friend (professional photographer) next month. I'm hoping those go a little smoother!! I'm not necessarily attaching the "best shots." I'm sharing the ones that show her personality!!

The sweet baby girl...

The kisser......she loves to blow kisses to everyone!! She puckers up. It truly melts your heart!!

Here you see her giving love to the teddy bear -again a favorite thing for her to do....she is a lover (when she is not biting Wyatt)!!

Getting to be a big girl.....

Giving the growl (and showing off her new top two teeth)!!

The "and why are you telling me no" look:

You would like for me to stand where? I think I would rather climb up here...

Again, you want me to stand next to the box so I can mimic a photo of Wyatt from his one year. Well, I have other plans. I would like to climb up here.

Until I belly flop because I can not balance myself.....

But, I am very persistent, so let me try from this angle. I think I can get up there!!

I'm over this photo shoot. See you later!!!

I actually got some more good shots, but will show those later!!

Count down to the BIG ONE!! I can't believe it!!!

Nathan's Birthday Dinner

Our intention was not for Wyatt to have an August birthday. He, however, had different plans and arrived almost on Nathan's birthday. The night before Wyatt's pool, baseball party, we had a little celebration for Nathan. It was a great time!! We went to dinner at Murphys with several couples. His dad brought several bottles of these wonderful wines and he covered them in aluminum foil. We had to decide which ones we liked and guess which ones were more or less expensive. We had fun being (well pretending to be) wine connoisseurs. His sister met us for dessert and a few late night drinks!!! Here is a pic of our group!!

Birthday Boy is THREE

I can't believe it, but my baby boy is now three. It was three years ago, that Wyatt was born five weeks early at Northside Hospital. His birth was definitely an adventure!! Due to being early, Wyatt spent the first 9 days of his life in the ICU at Northside.

Our baby boy is one of a kind. He is the most loving little boy I know. He is filled with snuggles, and says on a daily basis "hold me tight." He loves having a baby sister, and tries to teach her everything he knows. He also likes to discipline her. I often hear, "No sir" and "that's dangerous" when she is playing with something she should not be. Basically he is a little Mini Me, and says to her what has been said to him. It's really very cute. He LOVES sports. He alternates between his sport of choice. Lately it has been baseball. At other times, it's golf. Throughout his life, he has demonstrated a pretty amazing memory. Every day, Nathan and I are shocked with the things he remembers. While an infant (weeks old), he would instantly put his head down and want to dance when he heard the song Cruise with Me Baby. At 5 months, he would scream and cry when he heard a song performed at the Music Class because he got scared one time when I dipped him back. We could be in the car or be at home listening to his CD, and if he heard the first beat of the song, he would immediately recognize it and start screaming. Just over a year, he would cry if you didn't make the right turn in the stroller to go to the park and would point in the direction he wanted you to go. Around 18-19 months, he would recognize and identify every one's car on the road. He would point and say, "momma's doe" for every 4 Runner, "Nonna's doe" for every Honda Accord, and "PaPa doe" for every Ford Explorer. It was really quite amazing to us how he would remember the make of every one's car. He couldn't quite say car correctly though, it was more like doe. Just the other day, he pointed to a Cracker Barrel sign and said he wanted to go to that store to buy another airplane like the one his MiMi bought him. The crazy thing was that she bought that for him over a year ago when I was pregnant with Lauren. He was under 2 years old. He recognized the sign, and remembered the purchase. I could fill this blog entry with pages and pages of memories of the first three years of my little boys life. These past three years have been a blessing, and I thank God every day for giving me such a beautiful, kind, healthy little boy.

In celebration of his birthday, we basically celebrated all week!!! I love to celebrate Birthday Weeks, not just birthdays!!

The week started with a trip to Monkey Joes:

Followed the next day by a trip to the River to bike with Nonna:

Followed the next day by a lunch and play date with his favorite sitter, Janna:

Followed the next day by a playdate with some friends and the arrival of his MiMi & PaPa.

The week ended with a birthday party at the pool. Below are lots of pictures from his party!! It was a swim/baseball party. The party was mainly just family. When you invite family alone to parties, it still ends up being huge. I'm one of 5, and Nathan is one of 4. That makes for lots of cousins, aunts and uncles. Here is the party in pictures:

A highlight of his birthday was his cake. He loved it!! My mom made it for him, and it was stored in our fridge before the party. This is not an exaggeration. He went to the refrigerator 20+ times to check on it. I would walk into the room, and he would just be standing there staring at it.

Everyone having fun on the slides:
