I knew this day would come, I just thought I had a lot more time. Since Wyatt was about 1 year old, we would snuggle in front of the TV every morning. I know I shouldn't have, but I had an early riser and he woke up at the crack of dawn. It gave me an opportunity to rest my eyes just a little longer before starting a day of play. When he was 16 months old, we snuggled while watching Thomas the Train. He would point to the TV and say Choo Choo. At two, it was Little Einsteins or Super Wyatt. Now, just weeks away from his 3rd birthday, it's ESPN. :( Yes, ESPN. My two year old wants and loves to watch ESPN.
For the past two mornings, despite my discouragement, Wyatt has wanted to watch baseball on ESPN. Well, there are no baseball games playing at 8AM on weekday mornings. Yesterday, he settled for some sports talk show that showed clips of all the big hits, and today we watched some ad on direct TV for the baseball package over and over.
I have four brothers, a husband and a dad that all love sports. I knew it was inevitable that ESPN would be on our TV every weekend. I knew that one day, Wyatt and daddy would be plopped on the couch watching it on the weekends. Actually they already do that now. I have pictures of them doing it when Wyatt was just a few months old. I just honestly thought that our morning snuggles would revolve around some cute cartoon or us just talking for atleast a few more years. Nope....my weekdays are now about ESPN too.
