After blogging about Emery's arrival, I realized I never posted a message about the birth of a very special baby girl. Our close friends Jessica and Jaime Hockin gave birth to Connelly Grace on May 8th. All of us were so excited to finally meet Connelly. Although Nathan and I did not help in the creation of Connelly, we do feel a little bit responsible for her existence. We set her parents up on a blind date years ago. Over the years we have been very close to the Hockins. We have traveled abroad together, taken yearly trips to the beach together, traveled to see the bulldogs play together, been in each other's wedding, purchased UGA season tickets together, gone on every ski trip together, etc. The list could go on and on.
Although Jaime was 99.9% sure he was having a boy, I was secretely hoping for a girl. I know that, as a couple, our friendship will continue to grow. I know we will continue to travel together (we already have a trip planned for Disney), and I love the idea of Lauren having a close friend. Wyatt may even have a girlfriend in his future! :) Although, I can't count on that. Nathan and Jaime were training him last weekend at dinner to say, "No, you can't date my Connelly."
